Debunking the Myths: Apple iPhone 5

With so many theories buzzing about the latest iPhone 5, it’s hard to weed out the actual truths from the fabricated ones. Perhaps more important than what the iPhone 5 will feature is when it will be coming out. This article will attempt to distinguish between actual, pertinent information and the fake stuff that the Internet community puts out for notoriety.

The iOS 5

It is pretty safe to assume that this will drop since Apple made an announcement about it. Scott Forstall, Vice President of Software made the announcement at Apple’s World Wide Develop Conference in San Francisco.

Forstall said that there would be more than 200 new features coming to the iPhone and iPad and noted that the latest iOS didn’t have to be connected to a computer to start up or receive updates.

Forstall notes that the world will soon be “post PC.” Forstall also says that Apple realizes that a lot of their consumers don’t own personal computers. And Apple is now giving consumers the opportunity to “cut the cord.” The latest version of the iOS will let iPhone and iPad users set up their devices as soon as they open them up.

The Hardware

It’s difficult to obtain information about the iPhone’s hardware so details about this aspect are still unknown. There is some information available that we can surmise by observing Apple’s manufacturing partners. Many analysts note that Apple has already began production of the newest unit and its expected to be equipped with the same A5 processor as the iPad 2. We also know that the device will most likely use the same quality chips and displays as the current iPhone.

4G or Not?

While many Apple competitors and most phones expected to be released in the coming months are dropping in 4G, there is speculation that the iPhone 5 will actually not be available in 4G, at least not at first. Although many are saying the Apple will probably release a 4G version in the months following the iPhone 5’s release.

Other Notable Features

There are also some other features that will most likely be available, but we won’t go through them all here; there’s plenty of speculation surrounding these features and we don’t want to give our readers false hope and half truths.

Certainly you’ve heard about the coming iCloud and we expect that this will be integrated into the latest iPhone, giving it a wider range of capabilities.

If you’ve kept up with Google then you know about their use of NFC (Near Field Communication) in their smart phones to integrate payment processing. Well it looks as if Apple will follow the same route and feature a similar service on the newest iPhone.

Release Date

This is certainly the reason that most people will be reading this. More important than any of the coolest features or applications is the release date of the item; too early and it may not be good enough, too late and fans are fed-up with waiting. Well, our sources indicate that the iPhone 5 will drop in September of this year; at least that’s what we can guess given their manufacturing habits right now.
