Gizmodo Gallery In NewYork ThisWeek

Okay, so Gizmodo may technically be a competitor. But they are still cool guys, and they are running a nifty gallery up in New York this week known, simply, as the Gizmodo Gallery. If you love tech and you live nearby, you should stop by.

What is it?

Gizmodo staff plays with lots of technology each year, and they tend to have favorites. The Gizmodo Gallery is their chance to showcase the nifty, cool and just plain weird pieces of technology that they encountered over the previous year. This year, they are featuring everything from Instaprint, a small printer that prints out your Instagram photos, to the Makerbot, a cheap DIY 3d printer capable of producing cheap 3d plastic doohickeys of any chape or design.

They will also be hosting gaming parties, home theatre how-to’s, have band performances, and, of course, have the best phones and tablets on display for you to play with. Pretty much, if you are a geek and you live in the New York area, this is something you want to see.

Oh, and the opening party is going to be hosted by Woz, of co-founding Apple (and Dancing with the Stars) fame. The gallery will be running from Tuesday, December 6th to Saturday, December 10th at the White Box Gallery.

Also worth noting, for those who love tech, is that the Verge will be hosting their monthly show on Friday. Sadly, it is at the same time as the Gizmodo Gallery is hosting an interview with a Makerbot artist.
