Halo 4 Revealed

Bungie might not be involved any more, but that doesn't mean Microsoft is done making Halo games. In fact, Microsoft is warming up the hype engine right now for the newest entrant into the series. During the company's press conference at E3 today, they unveiled the official trailer for the next Halo game and the first in-game footage, showing Master Chief going up against the Covenant and Forerunner tech, which looks suspiciously like Skeletor crossed with Tron.

So far it is looking like the game will make a departure from the Halo formula we know, love, and have grown tired of. At the very beginning two new weapons are introduced, weapons which lack both the mechanical precision of Human tech and the almost biological look of Covenant tech, instead consisting of clean lines and strange floating pieces.

They also put Cortana in danger again, this time from degradation. Apparently AIs only last 7 years, and Cortana is 8 years old. So far it seems like that degradation will mean lots of screaming.

All in all, the trailer is promising, and the gameplay more so. If the game doesn't sink into soap opera territory, then this should be one hell of a game to play.
