Modders Make Playable Hyrule in Minecraft
Minecraft modders continue to impress, this time managing to duplicate the whole of Zelda’s Hyrule in Minecraft. They even managed to make it largely to scale, shaping even the terrain to match the game. This mod, in short, is utter insanity. We have seen Minecraft modders make some amazing things in the past. From recreations of famous buildings, to whole cities, to working CPU’s made entirely with elements from the game, Minecraft players are some of the most amazing builders in gaming. While this isn’t as great of a technical achievement as building a CPU in a game (which is absolutely insane, having played Minecraft myself), the sheer scale of this build is impressive.
The team behind it is saying that it is still only an alpha release. They want to expand this into a full playable MMO. That means dungeons stuffed with NPC enemies, quests, guilds, etc. And as ambitious as that may sound, other servers have done similar things on a much smaller scale.
The team released Hyrulecraft in its current, half finished state so that it could undergo some live public testing. As complex as the build is, there are surely some errors, some bugs that prevent natural movement. Eventually the goal is to host it on their own public server for all to play.
